This was a very big step for me…

This was a very big step for me… although at the time it felt very scary and kind of like a rock bottom moment. So maybe this qualifies as a challenge and win. The struggles I’ve been dealing with in my personal life really hit a place where I felt like I’d hit a wall. Usually I keep pushing through and take care of everyone and myself last…but instead this time I took a bold move and checked myself into a hotel for some regrouping time. It was painful to process so much…but also very healing. Obviously I hope the future holds less intense situations…but it taught me that truly taking time for myself is sometimes needed…or even crucial. Especially when working through very difficult things!!

Big win for me, I was tired and not feeling super great last night so I went to bed before the rest of my family. This is something that I never do I always am the last one to go to sleep I get the kids ready for bed, tuck them in, clean up the house and finally get myself ready for bed. But not last night I was tired so I went to sleep.

I actually do have a win today! I had to wake up early and do my workout first thing, which I really DO NOT love. I like to wake up have a cup of coffee and then do it around 10 or 11 AM. But I did it and I nailed it!

Ok ladies I have to share a win for this week

Ok ladies I have to share a win for this week. My family and I have been out of town for 2 weekends in a row. The 1st weekend I just went with the flow as far as food goes and just ate what everyone else wanted mostly because I didn’t want to have the family dinner fight - I’m sure you all know what I am talking about. But the 2nd weeknd there was a restaurant I really wanted to go to so I decided it was ok for me to make everyone go to that place. They didn’t all like it but that’s oka the big win for me was that I didn’t let myself feel bad for making them all go and not all liking it. I loved it and that is what matters for me that night.

Looking back at Q2 goals

Looking back at Q2 goals, I am most proud that I accomplished a written plan for how to care for myself emotionally when I return to the physical office space. After 1.5 years only working from home, I had a lot of boundaries naturally created from physical distance. Knowing my boundaries will be challenged being back in the physical office space with bosses and co-workers, I wanted to prepare myself for these situation and give my future self options. In prepping this, I know that being outside and walking is incredibly helpful for my mental and emotional health, so I did a little research and found THREE parks that are a 7 minute walk from my office that I had no idea existed! Now I am actually excited to make that time for myself when we return to the office and go explore these parks.

My win this week was going to bed angry last night.

My win this week was going to bed angry last night. Usually if my husband and I have a disagreement, I stay up all night fuming while I can hear him snoring 0.5 seconds after we stop talking. Last night we got into a disagreement and I did some deep breathing, reminded myself that the disagreement doesn’t define me or our relationship, and I fell asleep in less than 10 minutes. This was a HUGE victory for me. Like, years in the making.

Today I was reading an article about the symptoms of menopause.

Today I was reading an article about the symptoms of menopause. One is hair loss (one of my stresses right now). Neither of my doctors mentioned that my hair loss could be from menopause! Happy to say the article gave some tips about reducing the symptoms and a majority of them are stuff we’ve been learning - getting rest, taking time during the day to meditate, moving. It’s a win because I realized I can stop worrying so much and focus on what will help :) although my worry about my hair loss has gone down, this is another confirmation that I’m doing the right stuff.

A win that I forgot to mention is I’m making my bed every morning as part of my routine. The benefit still remains to be seen, but it is nice to craw into a neat and tidy bed at the end of the day :)

I checked off one of my goals for the quarter.

I checked off one of my goals for the quarter. I’ve had “buy a new fridge” on my to do list since January. For one reason or another, I kept putting it off. When I did my best life, that is one of the things I had to accomplish this quarter. It’s done!!! It will be delivered in 2 weeks. Replacing an at least 30 year old fridge! And now we’ll have ice and water. Hoping this also helps me get in my water every day without having to buy bottled.

I have two wins this week

I have two wins this week (small as they may be). I’ve done my morning routine 3 days in a row (although waking up earlier instead of snoozing is definitely a challenge that I’m still fighting the battle on) and I’ve prioritized organizing an area of my house two weeks in a row, which is a short term goal of mine.

I totally had a win

I totally had a win…my massage therapist told me, “your muscles are in really good condition…having strong glutes is amazing for back issues etc…” anyway… my pants may be a little tighter, but lifting weights is helping me put on muscle underneath my cushion. My issues should be and could be sooo much worse! Good reminder!
