This week was great.

This week was great. Added to my walks and cooked dinner each day of the week. Took a staycation and got out and that was a huge win! Such a good break and felt a little like the vacations I have been missing.

I moved a lot this week!

I moved a lot this week! My win is it was the week that I PMS and that usually is not a focused week at the gym. But I managed to commit to 2 spins, 3 Beachbody workouts and 1 yoga, along with a fall hike with the family. But I also managed to eat a warm piece of apple pie with ice cream guilt free. Yummy

I had a huge win last week

I had a huge win last week with being able to evaluate where my energy was being used up on something that I did not value. I was able to make a hard decision to say no to something that the kids were doing and choose and important family activity instead. It was honestly hard to draw the boundary lines at first but afterwards…it was the biggest weight off my shoulders and I know it was the right decision for our family. It felt good to be able to make the decision because normally I would just try to push through out of obligation and FOMO.

I had a win that I want to share! My husband made dinner on Monday night!!! Not fast food either. Salmon, potatoes and green beans! This is HUGE! Also, I didn’t ask him too! Ha!! All this work I am doing is working and I am excited to see what else he does!!!

Had a win this week with a difficult situation

Had a win this week with a difficult situation with my husband that definitely triggered me. Instead of reacting, I talked through it with myself and Katie, processed and reacted differently than I usually do. It was still a hard situation, but I came out of it feeling like I stood in my own power and feeling at peace that it was something I was able to let go. It was a definite “feel it to heal it” moment!!

This morning I had a win when I listened

This morning I had a win when I listened to my body’s hunger cue. I’m usually not hungry first thing in the morning, and I don’t like to have anything in my stomach before I workout. But after dropping off my daughter and setting up for my workout, I noticed I felt hungry. My first instinct was to just ignore it until I got my workout in. All I could hear though was Katy in my head saying we need to trust our bodies again. So I thought okay, I’ll just grab something small so I don’t get a side ache or feel sick in my workout. Grabbed a little slice of cheese and some water and now off to my workout.

Another win I’ve been having

Another win I’ve been having…I’ve struggled with having time to think through, shop for and cook yummy healthy meals during the week. I decided to try Hello Fresh (this is not an ad!) and it has changed things for me. It shows up every week (without me heading to the grocery store) and at least 3-4 times a week I can throw together a new fun and healthy meal for my fam…even with our crazy schedules. Bonus…I’m not throwing away stuff I bought and had too much of or just didn’t have time to make. Plus…it’s helping me eat good (and yummy) meals each night instead of throwing something together for the kids and then either not eating or eating crap food myself. Dinner has been a struggle for me…this was a huge step in the right direction.

This was a very big step for me…

This was a very big step for me… although at the time it felt very scary and kind of like a rock bottom moment. So maybe this qualifies as a challenge and win. The struggles I’ve been dealing with in my personal life really hit a place where I felt like I’d hit a wall. Usually I keep pushing through and take care of everyone and myself last…but instead this time I took a bold move and checked myself into a hotel for some regrouping time. It was painful to process so much…but also very healing. Obviously I hope the future holds less intense situations…but it taught me that truly taking time for myself is sometimes needed…or even crucial. Especially when working through very difficult things!!

Big win for me, I was tired and not feeling super great last night so I went to bed before the rest of my family. This is something that I never do I always am the last one to go to sleep I get the kids ready for bed, tuck them in, clean up the house and finally get myself ready for bed. But not last night I was tired so I went to sleep.

Ok ladies I have to share a win for this week

Ok ladies I have to share a win for this week. My family and I have been out of town for 2 weekends in a row. The 1st weekend I just went with the flow as far as food goes and just ate what everyone else wanted mostly because I didn’t want to have the family dinner fight - I’m sure you all know what I am talking about. But the 2nd weeknd there was a restaurant I really wanted to go to so I decided it was ok for me to make everyone go to that place. They didn’t all like it but that’s oka the big win for me was that I didn’t let myself feel bad for making them all go and not all liking it. I loved it and that is what matters for me that night.

Looking back at Q2 goals

Looking back at Q2 goals, I am most proud that I accomplished a written plan for how to care for myself emotionally when I return to the physical office space. After 1.5 years only working from home, I had a lot of boundaries naturally created from physical distance. Knowing my boundaries will be challenged being back in the physical office space with bosses and co-workers, I wanted to prepare myself for these situation and give my future self options. In prepping this, I know that being outside and walking is incredibly helpful for my mental and emotional health, so I did a little research and found THREE parks that are a 7 minute walk from my office that I had no idea existed! Now I am actually excited to make that time for myself when we return to the office and go explore these parks.

My win this week was going to bed angry last night.

My win this week was going to bed angry last night. Usually if my husband and I have a disagreement, I stay up all night fuming while I can hear him snoring 0.5 seconds after we stop talking. Last night we got into a disagreement and I did some deep breathing, reminded myself that the disagreement doesn’t define me or our relationship, and I fell asleep in less than 10 minutes. This was a HUGE victory for me. Like, years in the making.
